Easy DIY Bunny Ear Scrunchie Tutorial
Last year I shared an easy tutorial on how to make a scrunchie. The comeback of scrunchies was more popular than I really anticipated. In fact you all loved this tutorial! Personally, I prefer to make my own to save some money and have some unique scrunchies. So, I just had to make another version for you to try. So, here is version 2: The bunny ear scrunchie tutorial.
This post is all about how to make the bunny ears! I also made it super simple by creating a free downloadable PDF pattern for the bunny ears. To make the scrunchie, check out my scrunchie tutorial.
Let’s get started shall we?

WHAT You’ll NEED:
- Fabric
- Scissors
- Thread
- Needle and thread/sewing machine
- Bunny Ear Scrunchie
I used a sewing machine because I had one on hand but you can very easily use a needle and thread to make this as well (it just may take a bit longer to make)!
Step 1: Using the PDF pattern, cut out the bunny ears.
Step 2: Fold it in half with the right sides facing towards each other. Pin and sew a straight stitch using a 1/4″ seam allowance along the unfinished edge of the fabric.
Note: Leave about 1 to 1.5″ open in the middle. You will need this opening to flip the fabric inside out.
Step 3: Flip the fabric inside out. Hand sew to create an invisible stitch or top stitch the hole in the centre closed.
Tie the bunny ears around the scrunchie and you are done! Yes it really is that easy. Now go make more with the rest of your scrap fabrics! Scrunchies also make great gifts!
