Welcome to Kukaru Designs! My name is Kusala Karunananthan and I currently work in the field of Public Health. My line of work doesn’t provide much of a creative outlet so I created Kukaru Designs as a way to share happiness through a handmade lifestyle. I've always loved creating new things but my love affair really started over 5 years ago when I picked up a pair of crochet needles. The rest is history!
I will share how to create your own handmade crafts including easy sewing, knitting and crochet projects. I show step-by-step pictures of the process of working through patterns including my own. I hope to also share DIY crafts for the home, for yourself and for your little mini's.
I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband Marcus and am a mama to a sweet little boy. We love to travel, play board games and spend time with family.
I started from the beginning not knowing a single stitch or how to thread a sewing machine, so I know that anyone can start a new hobby! I would love for this to become a positive place where I can inspire creativity and learning. Of course, I have to show my DIY failures which comes with the territory of learning something new. Without failure, you can never truly get out of your comfort zone right?
