Fabric Haul Highlights
I absolutely love seeing fabric haul videos and blog posts. I’m not sure why they are incredibly addictive to look at, but somehow I get so intrigued and go down the rabbit hole. So, today I thought I would do a quite post about the fabric I bought while I was up in Ottawa last week. I really do enjoy going to a store in person and purchasing fabric. There is just something about feeling the material and seeing prints in person that makes whole shopping experience that much more satisfying. The bonus, is that you do not have to pay for shipping and can buy whatever yardage you want. I went two while I was in Ottawa, and may have bought some Christmas Fabric already! I know, I know! Halloween hasn’t even passed us by but I can’t wait to show you what I got.
The Moonrise Collection – Cotton and Steel
This collection is stunning! The simplicity of the pattern and jewel tone colours just really makes this fabric stand out. I have been eyeing this collection for a few months now and bought some for some for some projects that I have coming up.
The four prints I finally decided on was the Cups in lavender, Cups in Neutral, Rain Night, and Rain in Cactus. The prints are further apart but I actually prefer this for its simplicity. All of this fabric came from Fabrications Ottawa. I’m not sponsored to say this, but they have great collection of fabric from quilting cotton, knits to chambray and flannel. I would have bought more, but my fabric quota was reaching its limit! I still have fabric I bought over summer that I have use.
Christmas Fabric
This purchase was actually unexpected. I was looking fabric for my son’s halloween costume and my friend came across this super fun fabric advent calendar. Yes, you heard right. A FABRIC ADVENT CALENDAR! I found the calendar at Mad About Patchwork. Not only are the prints and graphics are soo incredibly cute but it also has little pouches that protrude out, which gives a bit more room for stuffing the calendar. This advent panel is from Dashwood Studios and includes instructions for how to sew it together. I’ll be posting a blog post in November to show you step-by-step on how I put this together. If you want to follow along and make your own, make sure to buy this advent calendar early.
Dear Stella, The Big Freeze, Cub Club Stellar
I mean I just had to with this print. Bear cuteness overload! Mad About Patchwork also has some awesome fabric and prints which you can buy online as well.
Hope you enjoyed my first fabric haul post. I’m sure I will have more of these in the future! For tips and tricks for fabric shopping check out my post on “how to shop for fabric”
